SBS Director of Diversity

Patrice Dickerson is the first SBS Director of Diversity. Her goal is to increase the number of minorities and women entering graduate programs in the social, behavioral, and economic sciences. She works closely with SBS departments, faculty, administrators, and students on recruitment, admissions, retention, and advocacy. Dickerson has a B.S. in Sociology with a minor in African American Studies from the University of Cincinnati and an M.A. in Sociology from the University of Michigan. For the last five years, she was an assistant professor in the Department of African American Studies at the University of Cincinnati. Dickerson is a member of the Association of Black Sociologists, the American Sociological Association, the National Association of Graduate Admissions Professionals, and the Society for the Study of Social Problems.
